The Darsena ( harbour) once connected to the circle of the Navigli canals , constituted the joining ring with a water circuit, which was for centuries the main channel of supplies, transportation, and commercial traffic in the city.
Today it is the hub of the Navigli neighbourhood, with music locales, restaurants, pubs, traditional osterie, little markets, and antique fairs on weekends.

In Paris we had the Padlocks of love.
The screened parapets of the Pont des Arts have been the support of many "love locks" hung by couples. This practice, which appeared on this bridge in 2008, then spread to the Léopold-Sédar-Senghor bridge, to the Archbishop's bridge and to the Simone-de-Beauvoir footbridge.
Faced with the controversy over the deterioration of the heritage generated by the presence of these tons of padlocks, the mayor of Paris decided to end it in September 2014 and replaced by glass panels
I do think the mayor of Paris took a wise decision! The bridges in Paris are so beautiful ,they must be protected ! These "love locks" are everywhere, I wonder where this fashion comes from and if it is going to last...
