I had to stop a while on the road yesterday for a herd of sheep to be moved....I'm glad there weren't as many as in this picture ;-)) The farmhouse looks like it has an apartment over the barns, like many here used to be in years gone by.

Hi Rosa, yes it was a widespread habit to have one's livestock housed downstairs where they were safe from predators and provided useful heat to the farmer and his family. Thanks for our kind compliment and good wishes. Hanwe

Yes it does seem to be in the same area as the bridge. I suppose shouting 'Mint sauce' wouldn't disturb this flock. I don't know the French expression. ;-)))

A good idea Peter, houses in France are much cheaper than in the UK, but it would be too hot in the summer for me ~~~ we could open an chop house or rack, there would be the danger of getting fleeced, but it is a golden opportunity
