Calle Cristo, Madrid
The Four Towers

The bottom half of Torre Cepsa shown... and the other three towers reflected in it.
This is the same effect from the other end!: www.ipernity.com/doc/2247598/46810772/in/album/929182
HFF everyone!
HFF everyone! Valdemanco with Cancho Largo rising…

The village of Valdemanco is my usual starting point for walks in La Sierra de La Cabrera. It's the end of the bus route too.(Madrid is one hour 20 minutes away by bus but less than 30 minutes by car! This is because the bus stops at all the small villages on the way).
San Pedro El Viejo, Madrid.

Unedited - these are shots I have in my phone and I will be gradually downloading them through Google Drive but the editing tool is so primitive that I won't bother with it. I will explore other editing tools instead.
Chinchon back street.

A popular tourist attraction. I visited on a Monday in April and it was deserted.
It's an attractive town about 30 miles south by south east of Madrid.
HFF, everyone!

Madrid, Azca Business Park, Spain, Europe, The World, The Universe. (just a little bit of help for those who, like me, like to geo-locate photos).
I have taught in most of these buildings at one time or another.
HFF Everyone! And a very Happy Easter!

(HFF 2) Madrid, Rio Manzanares, Puente de Los Franceses, GR10 waymark on tree not noticed when I took the shot but it indicates that we are on the path crossing the peninsula from Valencia to Lisbon. I think the fungal growth above the waymark is a common species but I have no knowledge of these things. Perhaps someone will know what it is.
Salamanca back street (HFF 1)

Felipe V, first king of the Borbón dynasty obviously didn't feel secure so he commissioned this massive barracks to be built not far from his Madrid palace. It was constructed between 1717 and 1736, The quarters, with it's grandiose portal shown here, were designed by renowned architect Pedro de Rivera.
Now a cultural and leisure centre.
HFF, everyone

Madrid, Azca business centre.
I have seen that this shot was taken EXACTLY 6 years ago. I was at this very same spot this morning! (I have always had many classes in this business district).
I use this ramp to trundle up and down with my trolley (the best way to get around Madrid between classes with my laptop, student files. etc).
Ancient door. Night shot.
Plaza de Colón, Madrid
Salamanca

Salamanca from our hotel rooftop terrace. 3 important churches (or cathedrals or monasteries or convents and probably they all were or still are all of these at one time or another!) and the old university, Spain's oldest.
Pedraza
Quay Street, Penzance

Two venerable pubs on the right, the nearest one is the Dock Inn and the one with seating outside is The Dolphin. I have spent many a happy time in both over the years!
St Michael's Mount is in the distance.
Principe Pio, Mainline and metro station, Madrid
|
|
|
|
This iron superstructure was the first of its kind in Madrid and covered the Estación del Norte, then the major Madrid railway terminal, now Principe Pío metro and local mainline station and no longer a major terminal.
HFF Everyone!

Sorry I haven't visited your gallery for over a week but I'm very busy. It's as much as I can do to upload 3 photos each evening. I hope to catch up soon!
View from a terrace at a previous flat.
Chamberí, Madrid.
