You can't walk between the two at sea level; even at low tide. You have to ascend the cliff, move along the coast path and descend by a steep scramble to the end of St Agnes Head. The whole thing takes over 30 minutes and yet it is within spitting distance. Perhaps best to swim!

I'm unsure about the brightly coloured stones. This area (Porthtowan) was heavily mined for many years and for a number of minerals and I assume that these are the ores of some of them.

I think one of my favourite rock pool shots because of the colours and very gentle ripples. As Peggy advises, best on black and full screen .
