Basset Cove and crane Islands, Cornwall. The Southwest Peninsula Coastpath once went straight ahead here. A very necessary fence!
Not every day can bring sunshine!
Godrevy and rock pool.
Penberth Cove, for Pam. Best on Large

The only thing missing here is a lovely Cornish pub!
However, if you are thirsty enough to undergo a 25 minute trudge uphill, you can reward yourself with an energy re-charging and refreshing pint of bitter at The Logan Rock pub in Treen.
Cornish rockpool for Pam.

A typical rock pool. And as there was no one about, I did strip off and get in, it being a very hot day. A real pleasure!
Ballowall.
Carvannel Downs and Porthcadjack for Pam.

There is an easy path down, seen here on the other side but from this angle it looks anything but easy!

Cornwall. Calm ocean waters. All this is at low tide and completely covered at high tide. The rocks are covered in mussels.
Sight and sound.

The sun has caught the harbour nicely here. In the distance is Godrevy lighthouse. It's is a view to the lighthoiuse from Talland, a large house not all that far from here that inspired Virginia Woolfe to write "To the Lighthouse", although the book is actually set in Scotland.
Sight and Sound (no reason except that I understand from a recent "silly season" Times article that there were only 8 recorded Nigels born last year in the UK and yet I know or knew very many, two of whom lived in St Ives in the 70s and 80s. Naming fashions change very quickly!). www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHTrJGeKhYA

Notorious for shipwrecks.
For Pam ... ... err ... I mean the Cornwall aspect and the coastal shot, not the shipwrecks ... err ... ... err ... ... ... I think I'll quit while I'm behind!
Tubby's Head, Cornwall. For Pam.
Man and His Man from St Agnes Head. For Pam.

I like to come down here for a couple of hours of reflection on my first morning back in Cornwall. Sadly I've not been able to visit this year. I have very few unseen photos left to show of Cornwall so instead of alternate Spain / Cornwall shots which I was posting only a year ago, it will probably only be one Cornwall shot per page until such a time as I can pay my next visit.
From Gurnard's Head to Zennor Head. For Pam.

Near Penberth Cove, Cornwall. For Pam.
The two intrepid walkers seen here were American students and passionate long-distance pathers! They had already done over half of the Coastpath in astounding time (I can't remember more details, Google stole my notes as well as my photos in 2016!).
I think I come here often but this August 2015 visit was the last time. Time flies.
Morvah coast from Bosigran Head. For Pam.

I have generally been lucky with the weather in Cornwall on my all-too-infrequent visits home. But you have to expect the odd dull day here and there!
