Coasts, mainly Cornwall
Cornish Coast 2. Serene

The coast at Bosigran Head. A good contrast with the previous upload I feel!
This one works reasonably well on large (imho).
Sight and Sound. A bit of Mozart; www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrcZfJrIG0Y
Another Cornish granite stile.

Far newer than the others in this series / album. It wasn't there on my previous visit in 2015. The path from the road to Bosigran Head, Zennor Parish, Cornwall.

Not somewhere I'd want to be shipwrecked!
I suggest on large and on large again, if you know what I mean - to see the granite and sea detail here.
And yes: there is a (somewhat perilous) way down to that beach!
Sight and sound. Robert Palmer (RIP) www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVTciOT1AwM
HANWE everyone! Cornish granite

Between Penberth Cove and Porthcurno. There is a way down. On a much earlier visit I saw a couple of anglers scramble down and it looked easy enough so i did it on a later visit. Yes, easy but very few people had done it as there was no evidence of flora disturbance under foot. (I dare say they had more intelligent and safe things to be getting on with).
Sight and Sound; This just amused me, www.youtube.com/watch?v=rksFGQ4-_JM
Crikey! I remember this as though it were Yesterday.
HFF everyone!

Portreath outer harbour on a benign day (just for a change!)
And, yes, the Monkey Hut survived another storm (please see previous photos from about 6 weeks ago.) but a lot of repair work still needs doing!

Typical of the granite coastal areas in Cornwall. This was a surprisingly warm and sunny March day. I only came here on a whim and couldn't have been luckier with the weather. Both before and after had seen weeks of dreary grey skies.
CORNISH ROCK POOL FOR PAM!

|
|
One of many rock pool shots I took in the years 2011 - 2015. Low tide.
Better on large.
From Bosigran Head, into the sun.

I never know if these into the sun shots will ever work with my phone as I used to be able to have some control in my days of SLRs and filters. (but I'm talking 1970s and 80s here!)
Sight and sound. Always liked the Winter brothers version of authentic blues. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzhgmJtKNZw
Another choppy sea shot at Portreath.

Portreath outer harbour. Better on large and large again.
Sight and Sound. Big Mama Thornton with 'Ball and Chain' made popular by Janice Joplin, but Big Mama wrote it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJlBo5KJ3b4
Basset Cove.

Cornish coast. The figures give the scale.
The path down starts at the bottom of the photo, left hand corner and it's not for the faint hearted! So it's mercifully free of the summer hordes! Although surfers like it here and can swamp the place if the conditions suit them.

Tubby's Head, Cornwall.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=18620H_z8Uk I like listening to Chopin and looking at the sea at the same time!
