Las Agujas de Cancho Gordo

Las Agujas de Cancho Gordo
(The needles of Cancho Gordo). La Sierra de La Cabrera granite. I don't think I've posted this on ipernity: certainly on Panoramio. I'm looking forward to getting up there again after a l o o o n g five year absence (for a whole variety of reasons).

Like Pam, I thought of stonehenge (which I saw this last summer, but only from a car in a traffic jam right next to it - ha!). Other standing stones I did get to touch.

Lovely photo of them.

Does this mean you are back in spain?

Thank you, Laura!
This is an OLD photo, and I haven't been up there to see them in over 5 years. I might have done so today but today was a complete (and very welcome!) washout! So I took a tour of the palace of El Escorial instead and I'm glad i did. Been back in spain for three weeks now and might have to go back to Cornwall at any time!

So glad you've gotten to travel again (even if you might have to go back to Cornwall on a moment's notice - I understand that issue). I knew this was an old photo - but you were sayin you might do it again, so I crossed my fingers that you had gotten to visit/go back to Spain.

And by the way, I noticed in your other comment here - 20,000 steps every day! Very impressive. I have a neighborhood walk that garners me about 2,000 steps (and lots of steep inclines - but no steps). We have stairs in our house and I don't count steps for everyday activiteis, but I'm sure it doesn't get to 20,000! I used to hike, but I still am searching for a current hiking partner.

Thank you, Laura. My Dad has taken a step for the worse and my Mum has been officially diagnosed as being with Altzheimer´s (but I knew that a long time ago). We - my siblings and I - have been putting together a care package to cater for both and within their means, seeing as we can't provide 24/7 cover. One good thing thing is a change in attitude in that the council and NHS are prepared to keep people in their homes for as long as possible, unlike here in Spain where both my parents would have been institutionalised long ago. I think the UK's approach is on the whole a better one!
