Mountain stream over granite. After the rain.

Mountain stream over granite. After the rain.
La Sierra de La Cabrera. My usual walking route goes up this arroyo and just occasionaly, after rain, it bursts into life!
Something held me back from posting this for 11 years and I can't imagine now what it could've been!

Wow what a great picture - well now we can all appreciate this picture that you've not wanted to show before. I do love the water running over the granite - great picture.

Arroyo! That's a loanword you still hear sometimes in the Southwest US. A major thoroughfare in Pasadena, California is the Arroyo Seco (named, yes, after the Arroyo Seco that drains the San Gabriel Mtns).

Well, it's an (almost) everyday word with me as when I used to go walking in the Mountains of Madrid (twice a week at one time!) I often checked the map for dry watercourses as being sometimes a very direct and interesting way around the place!
