Woodshed at night.
The town of Maderuelo in Segovia Province is yet another town that has seen far better days. Now very run down due to de-population, it nevertheless retains enough interest for tourists and still has a few decent restaurants and bars.
Perhaps marginally better on full screen.

Except this was a town of some importance and its decline (mirrored by so many others) seems protracted, sad, problematic on so many fronts and inevitable, unless we get some blue-sky thinking, some heads knocked together, and a will to see change happen. Yes that will exists but the task is a long and hard one.

With the COVID crisis, many people have returned to their birthplaces to keep safe from pandemics. However, for a short period. Now the movement was finished. We will see if it continues with the next pandemics.

Thank you, Carol. This is now 9 years old and yet I remember it as though it were yesterday. Maybe the fact that my girlfriend stopped calling me 'Sir' on this weekend break (I was her one time Business English teacher) might have something to do with it ... (only kidding!)
