Bat-friendly capped mineshafts.

Bat-friendly capped mineshafts.
Near Porthtowan, Cornish coast path. These mineshafts would once have been capped with concrete but now they are given grilles to enable access for the colonies of bats that use them.

How interesting, Andy. It's lovely to hear that, so this way the bats can go into the caves and be safe.

They can come and go from their roosting places. I didn't know it but they use these opsn-cast mineshafts to roost in during the day.
