Sierra de La Cabrera

Sierra de La Cabrera
By the side of the Convento Monasterio de San Julian y San Antonio (and one-time Goya family home) and at the start of one of many possible paths to the summit of Cancho Gordo. Taken on a bitterly cold February day.

Is there a reason that a cross is placed there - a church or memorial perhaps?

Yes I did read them, I just wondered why a cross, you didn't state if anyone had died on that route. I suppose they put something like that because of them being a Catholic country

Yes: there are often crosses outside monasteries here, Jenny. Come to think of it, we have Memorial crosses and crosses in market squares, etc.

A lovely image............with gorgeous light and dappled shadows. I love the shapes, textures and colour of the stones, including the wall and cross.
