I agree, Anton. I have a student who is a young architect and very good. She has been given resonsibility for the restoration of the bishop´s castle in Turegano, Segovia Province. Her designs look very interesting and her brief is to make it a better tourist attraction than it is currently while maintaining its structural and historic integrity.

Well if you were lucky and found a property with those views - I'm green with envy

No; ... every so often my girlfriend gets the "I can't stand the city any more" bug. So we spend the odd weekend traipsing around half-deserted (even completely deserted!) villages in Segovia and Avilla Provinces (in other words 50-100 miles from Madrid) looking at properties in various states of disrepair!
It's OK. She's happy and I get to see a bit of the countryside!
I understand from her sister that she's been doing this for 20 years or so!
