Couldn't resist one more of this little apricot tree.

Couldn't resist one more of this little apricot tree.
As mentioned before, this was overloaded a week before this shot and we have just eaten the last two of the loads of apricots that I took back to my flat in Madrid with me. Still firm but juicy, and incredibly sweet (close in sweetness and taste to a very ripe nectarine)! Not the best for my diabetes, but impossible to resist!

Oh how wonderful - I just love sweet apricots. The bush is lovely and it had such a bountiful crop.

And it was only planted as a mere sapling last year, Jenny!
One of the wonders of Mother Nature, to say the least!

I wouldn't be able to resist them either Andy. I bought some last week and they were delicious.

I recall they were alwys small yellow, hairy and sour from the shops, but great for jam! My old garden ones were wonderful, just as these Spanish ones are. But even in Spain you often get the sour ones in the shops too!

It's a pity that once you taste a really delicious apricot, you can never really face the shop ones again!

Ohhh, that's SO true! When I was in high school we had peach and apricot trees. Store apricots have the flavor of a damp sponge. Mass-produced peaches are much better and they've even managed to put some flavor back in tomatoes.
