Yes coastal erosion is such a worry - with these awful storms lately - the waves are so big that they hammer away at the cliffs and without realising it - the cliffs are gradually getting smaller.

It's as broad as it's long, Jenny.
Throughout geological eras, what the element wash away, nature brings back, somehow! Such as in silt deposits clogging up harbours in Sussex and Kent over the centuries. It all balances out in the end, just not in a convenient time frame for us mere motrtals!

Another large chunk of cliff fell at West Bay yesterday or maybe it was the day before. I would never sit under them, even in good weather.

Glorious light on the cliffs and rocks, bringing out such wonderful details. Nice one Andy!

To expand on what Rosalyn mentioned above..........they reckon it was approx 1000 tonnes of rock that fell on to the beach below.........scary!

You can normally tell when a stretch of coast is too flaky to walk on ... but by no means always! That is why I take very great care and some of my shots might seem to be taken from the edge but I am always very well positioned. Years of rock climbing taught me that!
Thanks Keith!
