I am not sure about that Diane but it could be. WW2 or even bullet fired by DDR Vopos police against fugitives from East to freedom. During my stay in Berlin I wanted to understand, I wanted to see, I wanted to go on the other side of the wall to talk with people. I did it after a first short visit some month afterwards. I sure didn't want to change "world" however it has been a strong experience indeed because I had to realise that the "bad" and the "good" wasn't clear at all.

Interesting. A friend of mine grew up in E. Germany and when the wall finally fell, everyone was shocked to see that they had been lied to all of those years. W. Berlin was like a wonderland of beauty and wealth, in their eyes.
