There is an explanation but I had to ask a friend of mine who is biologist: this is his short... cell answer. I have tried to translate it in English: Agility is a feature of ibex thanks to an innate sense of balance. A new born ibex is immediately able to stand on steep and rugged rocks. The extreme ability to move on slopes is due to the particular shape of hooves, with pointed front and small rear dewclaws.
