Big Oak Flat Trail
Photographed along the Big Oak Flat trail in Yosemite National Park.
Burned Tree
Yosemite National Park was ravaged by fire in 2009. This is a remnant of those fires in the Big Oak Flat area. We hiked there when some of the other trails were closed.
Snow
This was what we found in Yosemite National Park when we were there in February and March. It was still winter in the park and though we enjoyed our stay we were not able to do many of the trails or roads which were still snowed in.
North Dome
Taken on a hike to Mirror Lake this is North Dome from Tenaya Canyon.
Mirror Lake
The second day of our stay in Yosemite National Park we hiked to Mirror Lake in Tenaya Canyon. Mirror Lake is the remnant of an old glacial lake that is now nearly gone except for Tenaya Creek which runs through the meadow where the lake used to be.
Merced River
This was the Merced River the day we hiked to Mirror Lake.
Mirror Lake Trail
Mirror Lake in Yosemite National Park can be accessed by the old road or by a trail which more or less follows the road on the other side of the river. We hiked the trail both ways when we went to Mirror Lake.
Mirror Lake
Here is another photo from our hike to Mirror Lake while we were in Yosemite National Park in California. There is not much left of the lake but the reflections are still wonderful and worth the short hike in.
Mirror Lake
This is Mirror Lake in Yosemite National Park. The lake is what remains of an old glacial lake now mostly silted over. We hiked to the lake one of the mornings we were in the park.
