Oh RON!!! These pictures rock my world!! I can certainly see why they were your favorite flowers of Joshua Tree, they are knockouts! Each of your pictures is equally perfect, and adds to what we know from the others. The juicy, rich red is magnetic and pops right out of the screen. The shape is also so wonderful, I expect you had to touch a petal at least once as I would need to just to find out if it was silky or waxy or maybe something else! :)

I'm glad you liked the sporophyte scene, it's the coolest thing when I discover these on the computer as you just can't really tell when you take the picture.

LOL on the wiggly comments! :D I am both wiggly because I'm upbeat and wiggly because I can't stand still (omg I'll never be able to take pictures of birds/animals from hides...the concept of sitting for hours just to get a few pictures...Ain't Gonna Happen.) Funny, neither of my parents were playful or light-hearted like me, which is too bad. In some ways I am the polar opposite of my parents and this is one of them. I can't help but be silly, and my inner child is always underfoot! :)

Your flight...*cries on your shoulder with you*...that just sounds horrible. I mean, I get that kids need to be on flights but oh dear...screaming nonstop for no other reason than being a brat. That's very hard for me to deal with, and you were right next to them...you poor man!!

At one airport we encountered not one but TWO attendants that clearly should have been fired for their rudeness to people going through the lines. One was barking rudely at everyone over the intercom how she's not going to tolerate any bad behavior whatsoever...like, seriously? Are we in kindergarten? And we are all misbehaving? Wow. She treated people so badly, I simply could not believe it. And the other lady...wow...Steve's bag was chosen to be looked through and this agent was throwing his stuff around, bitching at him for the various items he had, and threw away his toothpaste for not complying to the size allowed--and she was WRONG about it, the size was allowed!! It was brand new and she just wanted to be a flaming ***** because she could--and because she was getting a rise out of Steve...she didn't like that he was pointing out her incredibly bad behavior and that she was wrong. Steve was LIVID at this treatment...took all day for him to calm down. So...yeah...that's a taste of today's international flight for you. Yikes.
