This is a terrible photo, one of those "quick-draw" ones, but it's also one of the funniest things I saw in Japan last year. This dandy and his obviously pampered Shiba Inu dog were being pulled around a Shinto shrine by rickshaw. The man was covered in silk and seemed to be role-playing, on the order of Japanese nobility.

Do I smell treats? Yep, I think I smell treats.
Maybe I'll take a little nap...

This old guy is in the school parking lot, sometimes. He's never interested to see me, he just gives me a droll look and waits and waits.

I'm thinking of moving in here, but it doesn't seem there's a toilet. Klamath Falls, Oregon.

This complex of brick buildings appears to have built in the 1930s. I don't know what its original purpose was, but something institutional. It was most recently a drug/alcohol rehab treatment residence. Klamath Falls, Oregon.

A bit spooky, yet oddly peaceful. This complex of brick buildings appears to have built in the 1930s. I don't know what its original purpose was, but something institutional. It was most recently a drug/alcohol rehab treatment residence. Klamath Falls, Oregon

The industrial district of Klamath Falls, Oregon, is my favorite area of town. There are lots of vacant buildings that are still salvageable. I've always dreamed of living and painting in a space like this.
