This is a terrible photo, one of those "quick-draw" ones, but it's also one of the funniest things I saw in Japan last year. This dandy and his obviously pampered Shiba Inu dog were being pulled around a Shinto shrine by rickshaw. The man was covered in silk and seemed to be role-playing, on the order of Japanese nobility.

The industrial district of Klamath Falls, Oregon, is my favorite area of town. There are lots of vacant buildings that are still salvageable. I've always dreamed of living and painting in a space like this.

5/31/15 - I recently saw this restored and it's gorgeous! I gave myself a beating for not having my camera with me. : (
