Grandma's bracelet, 1914

Grandma's bracelet, 1914
This was her prize for winning first place in a junior music contest. She played violin. I think she was about 12 or 13 and was a musician all her life. She had never had her own initials in the medallion, so she had mine incised and presented it to me when I was about that same age. I wore it regularly for many years - fortunately, my wrist was as skinny as hers.

rudi foehner, Pam J, Ulrich John have particularly liked this photo

Very nice..............all she'd get nowadays would be a book token.

It's wonderful to think it's been kept in the family all these years!

Are you musician like your grandma ?

No, unfortunately! All three of my brothers play instruments and one makes a living that way. I had NO aptitude for playing music, I was just a painter. ;-b
