A 1910s railroad snow plow (PiP)

This belonged to the old timber railroad system, which hauled logs to the mills, then hauled lumber back out. The body is wood, blades are metal and could be the type called spreaders. I came across some fascinating early snowplows while I was trying to find out when and where the above was made. I didn't find any like it, but wood was commonly used in railroad car construction pre-1910. Here is a spectacular Canadian design, c. 1900...



Something that we and the Canadians had plenty of as building material, wood! My photo is a re-take of a shot I posted several years ago - see PiP - and I see it has been re-painted since then.
