My great-grandmother

My great-grandmother
Rose Anna Woods. My mother thinks she was about 19 in this photo, c. 1898.

A fine looking lady.............and a lovely photo Diane. I like the way you've framed it.

I'm sorry to hear about your locomotion problems Diane, I hope you get better soon. In the meantime, here's a little something to practice to: www.google.com/search?q=locomotion+song&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b :-)

HA! I don't think I'll be dancing to that anytime soon, Keith. Fine looking, I agree. I only remember a tiny bit of her before she died. I think I was probably five or so.

Had to laugh at Keith's choice of song. A bit cheeky, but at least it's a very cheerful ditty!!
Your great grandmother was probably born then in 1879, the same year as my great grandfather who was a big influence on me in my teens (He died in 1976).

I suppose so, it's just a guess for the date above. Mom isn't certain of her age here. I didn't know her for long, in fact only remember one exchange. She was sitting up in bed recovering from a stroke and tried to teach me how to play a card game. (I still can't play cards!) Mom was raised by her grandmother, as her mother was away teaching most of the time. Thank you, Andy!
