Quite possible, I don't really know either. It can look quite different as there are various types of granite but thank you for thinking of me, Diane!

Well, granite or not -- looks like what I've seen in these parts.
My in-laws lived in a granite house that had the heat on year - round .. no, that isn't a typo -- that house needed on A/C ... the walls were the the A/C !
Remember visiting them years ago in a hot month, but that house was danged cold .. they turned up the heat !
Oh, there was a quarry not far -- could go outside and see it in the distance !

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Carolina_Granite_Corporation_Quarry_Complex

Don't understand how this was added to National Register of Historic Places -- it is a working site...... clueless in NC !

Wow, that sounds kind of nice - a cold house in summer! The older I get the less I want heat and am more inclined to just add layers. Of course, I haven't been in a granite house, so what do I know? Yeah...a quarry registered as Historic Place...unusual.

Well, when you and Pam J make that journey to NC, you shall visit the quarry !
Of course, North Carolina will never be the same --- just sayin'
