Yes, indeed! Anyway, most of the town is built on a cliff above the shore, so few residences or businesses were flooded. It's remarkable to me that it took only 9 hours to reach N. America.

It's scary to think that even this far away from the earthquake that is much damage was caused. It must have been unimaginably harrowing for those who were much closer!

Oh, I still can't comprehend it. I remember being up late watching CNN when the news came about the earthquake, then film of a scene where water was rushing over the seawall of one of the towns, big boats going over and so on. I didn't understand what I was seeing!

Thanks for posting this, I had forgotten about the tsunami from that quake.

The only positive thing after that tsunami was that "our" Angela decided to phase out atomic power stations....
