Hydrangeas are always blue in Brookings

Hydrangeas are always blue in Brookings
No ammonium sulfate needed! All over Brookings, Oregon, they are various shades of gorgeous blue. Some are a deep violet-blue. I'm jealous!

Gudrun, Sylvain Wiart, Andy Rodker have particularly liked this photo

They're the same in Cornwall. Acidic soil is what they like!
Another fine shot!

When I had them on the California coast they were always bright pink, which is just too much Big Pink for me. So, I made them blue and loved them. Then, I lived for awhile in Palo Alto (of Silicon Valley fame) and they were naturally blue in that yard. But, I can't get them to bloom in Klamath Falls at all. Nice, big plant, no blooms! Spring frost kills the buds. Grrr!

I love blue, but white is nice, too. Pink...now I would take pink if I could get them to bloom!
