Klamath County Fire Dist. 1, Station #3
The new station for my part of town. I really like the mid-century (1950s) look.

Refreshing! It reminds me of an Eichler home. tinyurl.com/ybghwmm7 He was the hot architect for middle class homes in the 1950s. They are now highly desirable and worth a fortune, especially in Palo Alto ("Silicon Valley") and Los Angeles, California.

Eichler designed thousands of home styles, in very few cases were they custom designs for individual homeowners. Most were for developers of large tracts of moderately priced "bespoke" homes, I guess you'd call them. I've only been in two, both in Palo Alto, and I think his were the first "open concept" designs. You know, where each room opens into another so family members can drive each other nuts. Sometimes, even the walls didn't go all the way to the ceiling, for maximum bedlam. Bedrooms and bathrooms were the exception. But, despite the drawbacks, I would dearly love to own one.

Anything becomes quaint and historic if you wait long enough!

Yep, even yours truly. I've crossed that threshold after which young people either tell me to get the h__l out of the way, or ask if I need a hand. >sigh<
