Ich glaube, dass vieles bei Euch besser läuft und genauso viel schlechter. Da würde ich nicht streiten wollen.

I think that the balance is towards the worse but in things to do with nature and walking I know we are very lucky being able to walk nearly anywhere -as long as you try not to bath in our self-polluting waters!

In Westdeutschland gibt's ziemlich viele Zäune und mehr Privatbesitz als im Nordosten. Hier kann man sich relativ frei bewegen.
Subjektiv sind die Gewässer in den letzten 30 Jahren viel sauberer geworden, die Industrie wurde diszipliniert. Allerdings nimmt die Belastung der Gewässer und des Grundwassers durch die Nährstoffüberschüsse aus der konventionellen Landwirtschaft ständig zu. Vieles läuft auch in die Ostsee und zusammen mit der Überfischung, sind die Fischbestände der Ostsee fast zusammen gebrochen in den letzten Jahren. Probleme haben wir auch genug. Allerdings gibt's inzwischen mehr Arbeit als Arbeitnehmer. Das ist wohl ein Plus für Deutschland.

I really like the colours in the landscape in this view Herb..........it looks like a sort of camouflage pattern and is very attractive..!!
