Pen-y-ghent, Queen of the Dales

Pen-y-ghent, Queen of the Dales
Taken from above the Yorkshire Dales village of Langcliffe in 2011 but just as attractive today. Looking at its best in the golden hour.
Pen-y-ghent It is the lowest of Yorkshire's Three Peaks at 2,277 feet; the other two being Ingleborough and Whernside. It lies 1.9 miles east of Horton in Ribblesdale.

Always good to hear you praise my landscapes Keith. As said elsewhere, a golden oldie here. We have only walked up Pen-y-ghent twice although we have seen it like this many times.

Hi Peter. You had me going for a moment as I wondered if I had got this mixed up with Ingleborough. On closer inspection, although the two peaks look remarkably similar Ingleborough has a much flatter top and so I am pretty sure I am right here. Glad you liked it.
