Weathering the storm

Weathering the storm
This lone tree in the Yorkshire Dales, knows what is to come. Moments after taking this, the heavens opened up and we had torrential rain but afterwards all was back to normal and the tree quite happy.

Another taken in the vicinity of Settle.

Enjoy full screen.

Thanks Gordon. A lot of these skies around your way. Not sure exactly where I took this but I think it was somewhere around Victoria Cave. ~ We have a grand collection of lone-trees between us now :)

Looking at the colour of that sky, I'm not surprised to hear that you had torrential rain for a while.
The little tree looks very lonely in that harsh bit of landscape...........and it's easy to see from which way the prevailing wind blows............it must be pretty firmly rooted to still be threre though!

A nicely composed and beautifully detailed shot Herb!

Hi Keith. There are a few of these trees around up here but you have to be determined to capture them, especially in this kind of weather. I think these trees must all be pretty old and well embedded in the rocky ground. Glad you liked it.

Hi Steve. Great that you enjoyed this one. Yes one has to be determined to risk the rains but being in the right place at the right time is key really.
