Edmund's Tump

Edmund's Tump
Enjoy with me this view towards Graig Syfyrddin as seen from near the White Castle on Offas Dyke, Monmouthshire, Wales. It is a 423m high hill with the summit knoll known as Edmund's Tump. Of course it was the lighting that attracted me in this direction.

Best full screen.

It's easy to see why this caught your attention Herb................the light is absolutely wonderful, especially in the clouds and on the green fields.

Such a fertile looking patchwork landscape...............with a lovely stand of trees at the summit of the hill. Beautifully composed and taken sir.

Thanks for the new word too...........I had to Google "Tump" :-)

Haha, yes Ipernity can be educational my friend. I took a few of this scene with this light but I liked this the best. The type of scene which when I see somebody else's similar I say to myself 'I wish I had taken that!'. The fields looked nice but they were all saturated with rain and so was difficult to walk over.
ps -good job the description did not say Donalds......

What a fabulous shot - great light and shade contrast and just a beautiful scene - expertly presented!
Hmmm. That name 'Edmund's Tump'; I'm not sure about Tump but will look it up presently and I assume Edmund is either King Edmund I or King Edmund II. Both excellent warrior kings of Wessex and England, if short lived, in both cases.
