Out and about, in Saddleworth
The day after our first snows of the season and we still have this on our local hillsides. Lighting as flat as a pancake, not the ideal weather for photography at all but this has a certain charm to me. The odd dog walker can be seen here as well as a lot sheep in their thick woolly coats.
Just a short distance to the left of this scene, a party of about a dozen pheasant hunters have alighted from their jeeps and stride off onto the hills to the sound of gun-fire and shouts from the accompanying beaters that are employed to disturb the roosting birds. I must admit to enjoying the taste of pheasant but I still debate the rights and wrongs of all that. The sheep at the top left did not like the sound of that shooting at all.
Full screen essential.
