It was indeed but we had to watch our step after seeing a notice warning us of the poisonous Adder snakes that live here. ~ Herb

I thought that all the kind of viper, being poisonous, are also mortal. As it seems it's not so, also not the kind that lives here.

An idyllic scene Herb..................the light is really lovely, especially where it's reflected on the surface of the water. The reeds make for some beautiful foreground interest.

The image in the PiP is just as lovely..........and I love the extra bit of interest in the clouds. Some lovely reeds in the foregroung again and some nice natural framing from the trees.

Always good to read your thoughts Keith. I was quite excited about the foreground in both these shots and like you, I love to include reeds here. I could not decide which of these similar photos to post and so you see the results. Of course very happy that you approve.

Wonderful scenery, at least if you kept to the shoreline it was flat !!

You are right, it was pretty flat here compared with the overall area. After this Loch we drove to a higher, much wilder Loch Muick so some pics to come from there too.

What an idyllic and peaceful loch this is.. looks ideal for a quiet amble.

It was very nice indeed, more like an English lake than a Lock up in the Scottish Cairngorms. Perfect, as you say, for a quite amble. ~ Herb
