Beer O' clock @Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Beer O' clock @Rothenburg ob der Tauber
One of the clocks I found in a town In Germany. A shot from 82' Enjoy Fuji ASA 200 50mm @ F5.6 Olympus OM-2N.

For those interesting in seeing the clock in action click on link and press play on the video. Same as I remember it and the sundial above.

Next to tea (and cake!) time, this is a very, very important time - when ever it is!! :-)

The coat of arms up there could help finding the town. Unfortunately I am not very good in that. Can you remeber which regions you was travelling than?

Excellent shot though.

its sad I had my maps of Europe that I had the locations of all my shots, in the move of house I will never need these again. We traveled a lot over Germany in 1982 so I am now so lost, yes you are right a very important time of the day. Not bad for film shot why I add one time to time.

Don't worry Steve! I found it! :-))
The two headed eagle means "Reichstadt" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_imperial_city), and the emblem on his chest is just ... a red castle (germ: rot[h]e burg = Rothenburg) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rothenburg_ob_der_Tauber and www.heraldry-wiki.com/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Rothenburg_ob_der_Tauber.
Have a good time.

And I gonna have now a nice cup of tea and a piece of cake - it's close to 3pm over here. :-)

The link to the heraldry site finaly works. Sorry, I had one ) too much in the adress.

And by the way: on the wiki site you'll find a movie clip of your picture (the Meistertrunk scene). Seems to be famous, I didn't know it up to now. ;-)

Hi Steve
I like this picture very much!
I was there in December 2018, and I checked back to find my picture of it. The purple colour has gone, and it had a Christmas tree in front of it, but otherwise the same!

Best Wishes, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!

Peter its great that you also know the clock but if had not been for Leon I could have never placed it. I threw out all my Mitchelin maps that I had marked all my photos never thinking I would ever use them again, how wrong.

Its worth the watch to think is still going and drawing a crowd on the day we came. I was lucky 6'3" i was taller than most people who went there to get the photos.
