1 hours drive from home high up BUT not a tree about but low scrub. A full 360 of the area 13 photos, the shot was taken 1am in the morning after the moon had gone down. all the car light and the City of Perth still show up in the photo.

Enjoy a sky full of stars on a cool night, a slower trip back home watching for wildlife in the dark. early in the season for the Milky way

Wonderful Sky and stars.

Years ago we made a night shot:

Der Himmel über ...?

This was at the Outback: Glen Helen, West Mecdonell National Park

A great result that will be forever remembered. A place I would love to go as there is so much you can get in the real out back. May I suggest that the photo if you reedit it a bring up the exposure you will see more detail. you are looking at this part of the Milky way

Core by the trees.

but stars suggest its not an eastern bow(as above) but in a western alignment so the stars are flipped over (compare the tip of Scorpios tail, bottom your shot, mine just next to tallest tree). hope this helps you.

Fabulous, Steve. We are so lucky in Oz to have so many places unaffected by extreme light pollution

when you consider I am 1Hour from home which is the northern end of the city and Milky way sits East to west this time of year,so right above Perth. the result for all that pollution is quite remarkable, I am learning a out about this side of Perth, not as good for astro shots as the southern side.

Another great bow Steve. You have used the city lights as a centre of interest to the bow itself. Great work indeed. Not many of these to be seen here in Britain at the moment!

Thanks other than today this was not possible as the back part of the bow was not going together. Not sure why but today's updated PTGui it all fell into place.. that way you can see grandson in the shot as well. Not many here with all the clouds of late either. a shot that shows life to be just the same but nights are starting to get quite cool.

Its a normal sight out in the dark, part of why I love WA even though our land and climate do not make great photos. HFF from the West

A great 360 with the Milky Way Bow, Steve. It's good that Perth created relatively little light pollution after only 1 hour drive. HFF and best wishes for the weekend.

I am a little surprised there is no pollution that is over powering but have to say south of the river we never had this problem city was at our backs,

The area under the right hand side of the bow was the area burnt out still very black even at night passing through it. Biggest killer of late has been clouds. HFF have a great weekend.
