Reluctant Bonsai ??????

Reluctant Bonsai ??????
I was told "it will never survive"(expert advice from the garden center) a Bougainvillea i dug out of the garden destined for the bin. This covered our whole back fence but What if ... Enjoy the flowers from the dead tree and two years work.

Thank you it has been a learning curve as it not the usual Bonsai material i would choose but it was too good to pass up.

John yes both Clara and myself are very green fingered our yard is bursting with plants in pots but this is satisfying as we have flowers and a plant i had no idea where i would end up. not bad for two years and more flowers to come out...

Gudrun it was not so much against the odds i put all my training into this i knew it would survive or i would not have started. to the nursery man it was way out of his field of thinking i treated it just the same as i would any normal bonsai. the unknown was it not the usual tree you would see but here it inside our house in all its glory.

Andy this was a project i started in the dark its a way left of center subject to bonsai but i did have full faith in what i did to plants and keep them alive at the start. to know i had a head start how it would react was the big unknown to the pruning and shaping . this is a very vigorous plant but its doing just fine as you can well see in its confined space and growth.
