I am trying to stay far from the nest and use a long focal length on my camera. The mother does see me taking the photo sometimes.

Yes, they are. I waited a long time this morning for one of the adults to get back on the nest, but it remained about two feet from the nest.

They must know how long they can stay off the eggs. I've often wondered that when I've seen them stay off for a while. Maybe they just get tired lol. :))
