Pont St. Bénézet in Avignon
Die Ruine der Pont Saint-Bénézet überspannt hier in Avignon den östlichen Arm der Rhone. 1355 wurde die steinerne Brücke erbaut. Im 14. Jh. wurde auch noch die kleine Kapelle über dem Pfeiler gebaut. Oft wurde sie durch Hochwasser und Kriege zerstört. Nach einer schweren Beschädigung wurde sie um 1660 als Brücke endgültig aufgegeben.
