Februar 2010 in Vancouver, der größten Stadt der kanadischen Provinz British Columbia, ausgetragen. Verschiedene Wettkämpfe fanden auch im Wintersportort Whistler sowie in den Vororten Richmond und West Vancouver statt. Sowohl die Olympischen Winterspiele als auch die daran anschließenden Winter-Paralympics wurden vom Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC) organisiert. Kanada war 2010 zum dritten Mal Gastgeber von Olympischen Spielen, nach den Sommerspielen 1976 in Montreal und den Winterspielen 1988 in Calgary. Whistler, vollständig eigentlich Resort Municipality of Whistler, ist ein Ort in der Region Whistler-Blackcomb, eines renommierten Skigebietes im Westen von Kanada, etwa 115 km nordöstlich von Vancouver in British Columbia, gelegen. Die Region ist nach den beiden Bergen Whistler Mountain und Blackcomb Peak benannt. Das Whistler-Tal gilt als traditionelle Handelsroute der Squamish und Lil'wat. Die ersten britischen Besucher nannten das Gebiet London Mountain, doch setzte sich die Benennung nach dem Pfeifen (englisch: whistle) des Murmeltiers durch. 1877 fertiggestellt, verband ein Pfad kurzzeitig Lillooet, Pemberton und Burrard Inlet über einen Pass von Squamish zum Seymour River. Die Lions Gate Bridge (offiziell First Narrows Bridge) ist eine Hängebrücke in der kanadischen Provinz British Columbia. Sie überbrückt eine Engstelle des Fjords Burrard Inlet und verbindet Vancouver mit North Vancouver und West Vancouver. Der Name der Brücke bezieht sich auf die Zwillingsgipfel The Lions in den North Shore Mountains. Die Gesamtlänge der Brücke inklusive des nördlich anschließenden Viadukts beträgt 1823 m, die eigentliche Länge 1517,3 m, die Mittelspannweite 472 m. HFF - have a nice one Princeton liegt am Kilometer 134 des Crowsnest Highway (BC Highway 3) auf 650 m Höhe. im Tal des Similkameen River an der Mündung des Tulameen River. Die Stadt ist das Zentrum des östlichen Teils der Region Okanagan-Similkameen, mehrere Straßen erschließen von hier aus das südliche Thompson-Plateau; das südlich des Similkameen River gelegene Kaskadengebirge ist wesentlich schlechter erschlossen.

Canadian National 6015 - PIP: Güterzug-Lok The tank and tender locomotive versions of the 4-8-2 Mountain wheel arrangement both originated in the Colony of Natal in South Africa. In 1888, the Natal Government Railways (NGR) placed the first five of its eventual one hundred Class D 4-8-2 tank locomotives in service. The locomotive was designed by William Milne, the locomotive superintendent of the NGR from 1877 to 1896, and was built by Dübs and Company. Einer der schier endlosen Züge, die von Vancouver nach Osten fahren. Die Bahnlinie verbindet Vancouver mit dem Mittelwesten und der Ostküste. Da hier sehr viele Waren mit dem Schiff aus Asien ankommen, ist der Güterverkehr Richtung Osten sehr groß. Bei diesem Zug habe ich bei 130 Waggons aufgehört zu zählen, es kamen noch einige. Vorne 2 Loks und in der Mitte auch nochmals eine. PiP - das Original Lynn Canyon Park is a municipal park in the District of North Vancouver, British Columbia. When the park officially opened in 1912 it was only 12 acres (4.9 ha) in size, but it now encompasses 617 acres (250 ha). The park has many hiking trails of varying length and difficulty. The Baden-Powell Trail passes through the park crossing over the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. Due to its natural landscape many TV series such as Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis used the area for filming.

Ihre Wurzeln in der Metropole an der Westküste sind während der Spiele wesentlich präsenter. Die einst vertriebenen Ureinwohner Kanadas gelten ansonsten noch immer als Randgruppe in der Gesellschaft.
