The long and hot drought is over
Unfortunately the 15th July is St.Swithun's Day, and we all know what that means:

“St Swithun's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St Swithun's day if thou be fair
For forty days will rain na mair”

So that takes us well into August. I wonder if the hosepipe bans will be lifted? ;-)))

The PiP shows some effects of the welcome rain on our secret garden.

Bei uns ist der 27. Juni, genannt "der Siebenschläfer", solch ein Tag, der das Wetter für die anschließenden 7 Wochen bestimmen soll. Und tatsächlich trifft das auch oft zu.

I'm assuming that the image in your PiP is your garden Amelia. It's really beautiful and bursting with colour!

We've had very little rain.......but it's much windier and cooler........for now anyway.

They've just announced a hosepipe ban in parts of Hampshire and the IOW, but our bit of Hampshire is so far unaffected as most of our supplies apparently come from ground water and not rivers!
