Well I've been busy but it's been wonderful

To try and explain my title to this blog, is to say that - I've been busy making more pedants but also I had a fantastic visit from my son and his family. Oh it was absolutely amazing - I had hugs for the first time in almost 2 years!!!! I hadn't realised how much I missed the physical part of seeing family. I see my daughter on Messenger most days, but to actually have my son and grandchildren in the same room as me was wonderful. My granddaughter has grown so much - she's almost my height and she's only 11, and my grandson is still cheeky and funny - wonderful. The only problem is that I've been used to only one person at a time in my house, and to suddenly have 4 extra actually exhausted me. Still I wouldn't have changed it for the world.

Unfortunately we've had a few strong windy days, and most of the lilacs have now completely gone and the laburnum is almost gone too. Such a shame, still I managed to capture the last few blooms before they sailed away on a breeze....

I have at last planted a few petunias in a trough outside my lounge window and some little beggar has eaten three of the flowers!!!!! Still I have 3 more that seem to be surviving....

Meanwhile the geraniums inside the bay window have been growing like mad - the pink ones seem to be spread everywhere - whenever I look at them - there seems to be more and more blooms. Crazy plant - but wonderful...

Speaking of a plant that is going mad with their blooms is the hoya again - already I've counted at least 15 blooms with loads more on the way.....

It's crazy but I love to see it - but the scent is very heady and I'm so glad that I can open the window, otherwise I'd probably pass out with the smell - the geraniums have a heavy scent, but the hoya ...... the nectar coming out of the flowers might be great to the bees etc, but I'm not a bee!!!!

I've discovered that I can make earrings too, as well as pendants - and they are so easy to make and also very quick.

I think I make about 5 sets a day - I'm having a whale of a time, but I honestly think I'm really going to have to start selling the ones I've made - I must have about 200 by now if not more.

Well that's about all folks, I do hope you are all well and being safe. I just can't wait until Turkey is off our red list, then I can go and see Mandi - it's been almost 2 years since I last saw her in the flesh. That's way too long for a mother to be without a child. All I can say is - thank heavens for technology - at least I can talk to her and see her, ten years ago it wouldn't have been possible. Stay safe and enjoy yourselves.

I am very happy you got to be with Tony and family! I would certainly think you'd be bonkers with no contact. I know I couldn't take it..
You keep talking about selling your pendants. If you don't soon, they will take over the house!

Yes it was wonderful to see them, but I fell asleep as soon as they left, because it exhausted me to have so many people in my home at the same time.

As far as selling the pendants - I will do so soon, it's just awkward trying to find a way of doing it. Don't forget I don't get out to be able to post them, I have no idea for the cost of posting neither. It's just something I will eventually get round to doing it.

Perhaps theres a boutique in town where you could sell them on consignment? Thats probably the easiest way for you.

I'm hoping my neighbour's daughter who has a small shop in the market, will let me borrow some space in the shop that I can display some of the goods.

Lovely photos Jenny. The Hoya is a strange looking plant indeed though pretty.
Nice ear-rings though I'm with Gracie; try and sell some. They'd make lovely gifts.
How lovely to see family again, and hugs too. I'm hoping to see family and my fiend in Wales soon as well. Though my son lives at home, he's not a hugger as an adult, not with his Mum anyway lol.

Yes the hoya is a strange plant, poor Emily has to constantly wind the stems around to prevent them from climbing up the pelmet. It's about 20 feet high now, and when I first started to care for it (22 years ago) it was a sad looking plant about 2 feet high. I think we really ought to stop feeding them though!!!

As for selling my pendants etc, please see my reply to Gracie!! Oh and my son is a wonderful hugger - a big strong bear hug - wonderful

OHHHH!!!! Your son and family was finally able to visit!!! THAT'S SO FANTASTIC, JENNY!!! I would have been crying my eyes out to see them after such a long time--and HUGS TOO!!! Gee, I know how much that meant to you. I'm overjoyed for you. And no need to feel totally exhausted after seeing them, I get the same way whenever there is a family gathering of any kind. I don't like being around a lot of people so when I'm forced it's just exhausting. It's so hard to keep up the conversations and the high level of attention and focus. I get it. Steve is such a social butterfly he can do that for hours--in fact, a favorite thing for him to do is to take Pumpkin in her backpack cage on walks around the campground loops...everyone wants to stop and say hi and Steve eats it up. He also loves just saying hi to folks and just chit chat about everything...so, as you might imagine, I prefer to stay at the trailer when those two are out and about. Hah!

Loved all the pictures--gosh I would love a Hoya plant, such a beauty with a strong fragrance--though I know too much of a good thing is not good either--Jasmine is like that too...so nice but then...OVERWHELMING!

And of course, loved the earrings pictures too...I hope you can manage a shop at some point--etsy would be a great place I bet!

Yes it was magical to see them. I was already exhausted without having been out with them, so imagine how bad it would have been had I gone with them!! I love talking to all and sundry, but I think it's just because I haven't had more than one person at a time with me in the last two years, so more than one is a shock to the system.

This all reminds me of the memorial that my oldest brother orchestrated after my older brother Scott died some years ago. He got a hall and invited everyone who knew and loved my brother. There were oh--50 people maybe?--there and I knew many of them, but hadn't seen them in a million years. So you have that sensation of seeing a person, knowing you've seen them, and then figuring out who they are. Then you remember your relationship with them. Then you remember what it was like at that time, so long ago. I found myself turning into a deer in headlights after a while--it was so easy for everyone else because I was the only girl in the family so of course I had to be Janet, but who are all of these people?! One by one I recognized them and the understanding of what they look like now, etc., etc., omg. Jenny. It was HORRIBLE!! I I finally told Steve that we have to leave because I can't take it anymore! And this was on top of the fact that my dear brother died from an accident, I didn't get to say goodbye, I was destroyed that he was gone...wow. One of the most uncomfortable, unhappy situations I've ever been in. *shakes head* UGH! It took days to get over the shock of seeing all of those people and processing the feelings I had. NOT RECOMMENDED!!! :D
