My gorgeous new friend, Emily, came today as usual and she said that as the weather was good - did I fancy a quick trip to the seaside!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe what she was saying - she said that she realised how much I was missing the sea, and was happy to take me out for a quick trip.
WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!! how could I say no? Apart from the fact that I'm still having problems breathing - the trip out was too strong a pull. So we quickly got ready and drove out to Westward Ho!. I expected to feel strange actually being outside after 9 months of being indoors - but I felt perfectly fine. The sun was shining, there were a lot of cars around, still many tourists here apparently. She drove to the area with a good view of the beach. The tide was coming in fast, and also the waves were great - good ones for surfing, but there weren't many people doing that - there were some brave souls swimming though!!!!
As you can see, there were a few people about, but it was otherwise lovely and quiet. I had the window down in the car and the sound of the sea was amazing. There is something so soothing about the sound of waves. I know I can see this view from the webcams - but nothing like actually being there. I've really missed the sea - oh so much. I don't think I can thank Emily enough for what she's done for me today. She said it wasn't a problem for her, but for me? Oh I was so happy, I nearly had a little cry of gratitude, but I know it would have embarrassed her, so I was a brave little soldier and kept quiet!!!!
The waves were coming in fast - breaking over the rocks and they would soon consume the swimming pool, but we had to leave before that happened, as Emily had to go to collect her children from school.
I have been watching this area for a while now (on the computer) and it has been so busy, but it was good to see that it was quiet again - yet staying warm in the sun, out of the wind.
Tomorrow she's coming up again to wash my hair - I'm having problems doing it at the moment, I can't get my arms up and back to do it - she's an amazing lady!!!
So folks, I just wanted to let you know - this recluse is no longer!!! I do hope you all have had a great day too.

It's just beautiful there. I'm glad you were able to park in a spot that didn't have folks walking by and causing you any distress.
I'm sorry you've been having trouble breathing--perhaps there is something that can be done to help I hope? Also, how nice that Emily is able to wash your hair, what a nice thing for her to do for you.
I am looking out my windows as I type, and the most adorable, tiny chipmunks are racing around the trees, sitting on their hind legs in the grass and nibbling pine cones, and zipping up and down the pine trees just next to the coach. SO CUTE! These little guys are among the smallest species of "chippers' in the world, and the smallest in Oregon, we just love them!
Hope all is well my dear, you are always on my mind! :)
Jenny McIntyre club has replied to Janet Brien clubMy breathing is much better now - the antibiotics are working well. Yesterday I crawled upstairs to have a shower and wash my hair - took a lot out of me, but boy it was wonderful!!!!!
Those little chipmunks sound adorable. I sometimes catch sight of the squirrels in my garden, but mostly it's the variety of birds and butterflies which are occupying my area!!!! I hope you and Steve are well and enjoying your stay and vacation in Oregon. Have the fires stopped near your home? We don't hear too much about it all now - not since Trump caught COVID19.!!
