Apparently after this coming weekend, we are starting to go into wintry conditions!!! Well it's going to get colder anyway. Today has been a lovely sunny day - not sunbathing weather, but certainly mild and delightful.
Emily, I don't like to call her my cleaner because she's become so much more - she's already a lovely friend, came today as it was her day. She works so quickly that she finishes my list with about 3/4 hour spare and she's only here for 2 hours, so I have to think of what else she can do - next week won't be a problem though - I need the lounge carpet cleaned!!!! She is such a dear - she'd changed my bedding, hoovered and washed all downstairs floors (the wooden ones) polished and dusted all the downstairs rooms and there was still the 45 minutes left!!!! So she went upstairs and did the bathroom for me. Next week as I said, will be a busy one - the lounge carpet needs cleaning, I have the vax cleaner and the carpet shampoo all ready.
She brought her staple gun for me to finish off my craftwork. I have quite a lot of costume jewellry but I rarely wear them because I don't see them to remind me, so I thought if I displayed them in my bedroom, I'd see them and then I could go all "blingy"!!!! I was going to use some pegboard - have you seen the price of pegboard?!!!! So the nearest thing I could think of was metal square grids, you know like cooling trays. I had some offcuts of wood, (given by my neighbour's hubby who owns and runs a display factory - but the wood was so hard, that the "u shaped" nails just wouldn't go into it. Hence the staple gun which was perfect. Now the grids are attached at the bottom and top to wood and I'll hang them up on the wall. I'm not too good at describing what I mean, so when I eventually put the costume jewellry on their hangers etc, I'll take some pics so you'll know what I mean.
Talking of pics here are a couple of Pippin who decided to sit on the bathroom window sill and keep watch for any intruders who may have dared to walk down the driveway!!!
I'd already caught a great shadow of him behind the curtain ......
I've had my late brother's friend here for a couple of days, because he's bought a house about 3 miles from me, so now he'll be living where he's wanted to live for over 30 years. So he's left one of his cars on my driveway as well as some clothes and some items that he doesn't want to risk losing in the move - well it's pretty safe upstairs.
Okay folks, not a terribly interesting blog - but my life is rather quiet at the moment - just how I like it!!! It'll all be different next month because I'm hoping to go to Turkey for a couple of months to stay with Mandi and Dogan. Do you know they were sitting outside this evening in t-shirts having a barbecue!!!!!! It was lovely and "cool" apparently it was 22C, which probably was cool compared to their 28C during the day! Knowing my luck though - it'll be raining and temps of 10C when I go there!!!!!
Have a lovely weekend - I'm going to be watching the US Formula 1, Grand Prix.

I do hope you can get away to visit Mandi and enjoy some sunshine and heat. 22C sounds wonderful about now. We've had sunshine here though it is cold and we've already had a frosty morning.
Enjoy the racing.
