Hank Williams wrote most of his recording material but it was Dock "Curley" Williams who composed "Half As Much" (C. Williams). This is the original 78 r.p.m. vinyl with the Drifting Cowboys that hit the Billboard top ten Country chart in 1952.

Rosemary Clooney recorded "Half As Much" with the Percy Faith Orchestra and hit the top pop chart position also in 1952. In 2002 her nephew, George Clooney, was a pallbearer at her funeral.
