Well folks - Mickey has arrived. It's lovely seeing him again after 3 years and it wasn't long before we were back to our usual bantering selves.

After having settled himself in, he proceeded to sit in the garden in the sun and we had a lovely long chat..... that was yesterday...........

Today when I got up, I looked out of the window and noticed that the garden bench was upside down - he'd decided to fix it for me. Then I saw that the old hose was unravelled and was half way up the drive. He'd worked out that the new hose I'd bought wouldn't work because the attachment wouldn't fit on the kitchen taps [faucets for you in the US] so he found the old one and realised it fitted on the taps. The kitchen sink taps were so old about 50 odd years old and there aren't any adaptors out there to fit them, except the old hosepipe with an old attachment. Sorted.........

While he was fixing the bench - he needed some small screws and I have a large collection of screws - but they are loose in a large basket!!!!!! So I had to sort out which ones were okay for him - not too small and not too long. I decided that there was a need to sort these out - there were pozi and straight screws, so I got hold of some small plastic bags and that's two hours I'll never have back!!!!! Still they're all sorted out now and when I need any screws I'll know exactly where to look won't I?

Today we decided to go to the beach before we went shopping. It was very windy and cloudy but it was warm. There was a large contingent of surfing schools there and the water was ideal for the learners to get up on the surfboards. The waves were plentiful but not too big............

The local Royal National Lifeboat Institution was out to make sure everyone was safe. As you can see the beach was lovely and deserted and so there was plenty of space for the surfers................
Mickey is on his way towards them so he can get a better picture - but it was so windy it was difficult to stand still. Meanwhile I was sitting on the slipway and was sheltered from the wind................... not stupid eh?

While I was sitting there I noticed that there was a lovely lot of seaweed attached to the rocks. In fact there were lots of barnacles there too as well as some other kind of seaweed ......

Even the pebbles are beautifully marked........

We got back home - expecting the rain to visit us around 5pm as pre-warned by the weather forecasters - but nothing happened and I'm now sitting here wondering if we should go out and use the hosepipe on the flowers. They say we're going to have rain tomorrow, but are they lying again?

That's all for today folks, we're going to have a day in tomorrow and on Saturday hoping to go out and explore the county. Will write again soon................
