Group: The Meaning of Spam

Is ipernity turning groups to 'private'?

Just noticed the admin of a group I belong to (Feathered Friends) claims in a discussion that the group was turned private by ipernity due to so called 'spam'. He is now moderating the group removing any images with 'Seen In' comments etc., so he can then get ipernity to reverse their actions. Sad since I will leave such anti-'spam' groups, preferring not to censor comments left on my shots.

Has anyone else heard or noticed this happening?

A big move if it was truly ipernity's doing, but is it really such a bad thing. If a group becomes private it only means that the admins would have to work a little harder to invite members they wish to have in the group since the group wouldn't show up in searches. At least that way they would know that only like-minded people would be participating, and no unsavoury people could slip in. Just my opinion.
