Thank you, Isabel...I knew it right away when I saw this photo. The yellow flowers you had mentioned...and they're all for me :-) It's a happy picture!

Within a couple of weeks all the oxalis will bloom too...

The flowering season is almost over here, only a few autumn bloomers can be seen. The colorful foliage on the trees is very beautiful at the moment, but that will be over with the first frost

Most people struggle to understand, because we are Europeans too, that south Portugal is more climate related to north Africa, like south Andalucia. Our flower season starts now and lasts till June but we almost never have deciduous trees with colours like yours because except in the Monchique small mountain we don’t have that kind of vegetation. One can’t have it all !
Hot and dry season starts in May and lasts till October, so last flowers in June and then all is asleep except oleanders who are the only ones to bloom because roots go deep to find water, and we therefore know that water can be found where oleanders grow.

I miss my "winters" in Spain and Portugal :-((
