This is excellently taken. In the UK we are shown old pictures of slum life in 'The Gorbals' in Scotland with the implication that all that is a thing of the past and we can't understand how the situation could ever have come about - I wonder if in 100 years time people will be looking at pictures like yours, and thinking the same thing?
