First level of Khao Phra Vihaan

Gopura of the First level is tetrahedrons of X style wall but atairway and door. The atairs quite steeply because the and ancient believed that to audience the god they have to play respect by humber their selves. The stair in thr east, wich is the way of Khmer,is broken; therefore, it was called 'Chong BandaiHak' (inaccessible stirway).

South entrance into the Gopura complex

Gopura or also called Gopuram is a rising tower at the entrance of an hindu temple. Gopuras are exquisitely decorated with sculpture and carvings with a variety of themes derived from the Hindu mythology, particularly those associated with the presiding deity of the temple of which a particular gopura is.

Debris inside the yard of Phra Vihaan

At many parts of this historical treasure a renovation is necessary. I hope that the Thai/Cambodian dispute will find a soon end that an international organization like UNICEF o.e. can start its program for maintenance this cultural asset.
