Pura Dalem Sidan temple

This Temple of Death Rites, dedicated to Siva and his consort, Durga is probably one of the spookiest temples on the island. The kulkul bell tower graphically depicts what will happen to you if you were less than pleasant in this life, including having your head sawn off. Inside are reliefs of Rangda, the witch, smashing babies and other ghoulish things. Carvings of the semi-divine hero of the Mahabharata, Bima, fighting with a demon of death cover the outer walls.
