Almost exactly the same article ran again on August 21, under the headline that the Band would come to Canada "next year".

I would guess that the article was prepared by a publicist and distributed to Canadian newspapers to drum up interest, rather than being written by a staff-writer for the Tribune.

There is no sign that they ever came. Sounds as though plans were delayed, hence the second appearance of the article, and perhaps cancelled.
